Description

Job Title: iDMC Regional Operations Manager – French Speaking

Department: iDMC

Overview: The Regional Ops Manager will be responsible for product planning, quality and cost, and day to day operations within their region.

Reporting to: iDMC General Manager
Reports: No direct line management, but responsibility for leaders and reps in the applicable region.

Relationship to other teams: Key relationships in the organisation will be with:
Headwater - sales & product teams.
Exodus - product & customer operations. OQ, customer services.

Hours & place of work: Monday to Friday 09.30 – 17.30 plus out of hours/weekend work where appropriate. Time in lieu available for weekend work according to Exodus policy.
Exodus offices in Balham, South London, UK.
Regular overseas visits.

Description of team: The iDMC team will be responsible for the running of directly operated Exodus and Headwater trips in western Europe, and for expanding the capability to take on the operations of more product for Exodus and Headwater as well as other brands or businesses.

Specific Tasks to Include: Product planning

Primary responsibility for the following tasks within the applicable region:
• Providing product proposals, discussions and planning with the product teams in each brand
• Researching and development for new or improved products, routes, activities and suppliers
• Negotiating and contracting on rates, dates and sales processes with all suppliers (primarily accommodation)
• Quoting accurate and detailed tour costs to Exodus to allow the costings and payment process to take place efficiently
• Providing a feed of trip note changes and updates in a well written format
• Providing accurate and detailed risk assessment content to the product teams

Operations

Primary responsibility for the following tasks within the applicable region:
• Managing supplier relationships throughout the contracting and operational periods
• Providing direct assistance to Headwater sales to fulfil individual customer booking requests with suppliers
• Delivering on agreed Health and Safety requirements for all services provided and for each brand
• Maintaining a tight control on quality management to deliver to and above each brand’s expectations
• Providing detailed feedback to the customer services team on complaints received, and ensuring necessary changes and follow-up
• Delivering quality and up to date route notes and GPS instructions for each self-guided holiday

Shared responsibility for:
• Leader and rep management (main point of contact during periods of work)
• Leader and rep accommodation and travel arrangements where applicable
• Leader and rep trip spend and personal expenses
• Bike fleet management requirements for the region as needed
• Vehicle management, legal and logistics requirements for the region as needed

Skills / competencies: • Language skills: fluent French
• Geographical knowledge of France and other parts of Western Europe
• Experience of contracting with suppliers (hotels or DMCs)
• Relationship management skills – to create good working relationships with suppliers and staff
• An understanding of, and interest in, active holidays
• An strong appreciation for the operational requirements of a business
