We’re hiring for a Director of Field Operations & Logistics with demonstrable success and experience at a senior level to oversee our activities across the globe as we grow rapidly.
BASED: Bristol, UK - Relocation allowance available
REPORTING TO: Managing Director
We are looking for a highly experienced field operations and logistics professional to join the senior management team at The Adventurists.
You’ll oversee our in-house event management team and our team of external operations contractors based all over the world. You’ll be responsible for a broad range of projects and operational challenges including delivering complex events, new product development and costing, fulfilment systems for the sale of physical goods such as clothing and equipment, film production & location management and a range of international shipping requirements such as importing vehicles from China to multiple countries around the world.
We’re growing and diversifying rapidly, so you’ll be responsible for improving and expanding the UK and overseas operations teams, whilst reducing the risk of our increasingly complex activities. You’ll need to be obsessed with details, processes and timelines to meet complex international logistics challenges. You’ll have proven experience of successfully managing projects with big budgets. Sometimes you’ll need the patience of a saint and unrelenting determination - we operate in regions where getting stuff done isn’t always easy.
We’ll also be adding to our collection of existing adventures and races. Our events include the Mongol Derby (the world’s longest horse race), the Icarus Trophy (a long distance paramotor flying race), and the Rickshaw Run (driving tuk tuks across India).
