Description
The Youth Adventure Trust fundraising challenge events offer a bespoke opportunity to companies and the general public who want to challenge themselves, and in doing so improve the lives of vulnerable young people. Our challenges, from climbing mountains to multi-discipline endurance events, raise essential funds for the charity through team sponsorship.
We are offering a range of events this year and are seeking volunteers to assist and support our teams as they take part. This is a role for people comfortable and enthusiastic about spending long periods of time in the outdoors, helping teams to achieve remarkable challenges, and therefore fulfilling their goal of raising funds to support the Youth Adventure Trust's programme for vulnerable young people.
Challenge event volunteers are involved in a range of duties over a weekend which may include marshalling, cheering teams on, helping to resolve problems and celebrating the achievements of each and every participant.
What are they looking for?
No special skills are required however volunteers should be engaging, motivating and able to enthuse participants. Our event volunteers are representing the charity and as such should be professional and comfortable in a range of outdoor environments, from standing on windy wet hills to camping in muddy fields. Some navigational and outdoor skills would be beneficial but are not essential, so long as you are happy in the outdoors for extended periods of time.
